Our first job of 2024 is to look back at the past year. 2023 proved to be a challenging year with great uncertainty across most sectors.
I am pleased to say we were able to operate without borrowing which prevented us being affected by the interest rate rises that have had a massive impact on so many organisations.
Below is a summary from each company for 2023.
Pennington and Partners Ltd (penningtonandpartners.com)
Pennington and Partners Ltd enjoyed another very diverse range of consultancy. We were asked to look at areas including energy, finance, planning, security and several others. As always, we never name our clients but we see big shifts to the middle east and far east as stronger relationships build in these fast moving economies.
We look forward to 2024 as we feel a more confident view is developing in international clients seeking new market opportunities.
Being diverse in our fields of knowledge has clearly helped us to grow in contacts and we are always looking to expand our knowledge.
Film and Theatre –
We continue to seek finance for the arts – especially film and theatre funding. With a range of completed film scripts and theatre productions we still wonder how the UK manages to produce anything whilst we have such a shortage of finance available. None the less, we continue to seek partners in finance so as to bring these productions to life and promote the UK film and theatre industries .
Pennington and Pennington Ltd (penningtonandpennington.com)
The company was able to attract a variety of instructions this last year with our marketing slowly building enthusiasm in our approach to promoting owners proud vehicles.
We found the most expensive classic marks have been hard to find new homes but as we hope 2024 will restore greater interest in enjoying the ownership of some remarkable cars we look to show them at the events we will be organising for our clients through this year.
The possibility of opening a base premises were we can display several vehicles is anticipated for early 2024 and this may also allow us to hold several auctions during this year.
The Legacy Guild CIC (thelegacyguild.co.uk)
The Legacy Guild has been a major project that was launched a year ago with a close friend and business partner who, like me, felt growing older should not mean hanging up your boots and sitting back into retirement.
We felt we wanted to put back the knowledge we had gained over our working lives and pass it on. We also felt we wanted to encourage others to do the same.
We are building an exciting programme of events and ideas for the coming year and hope we can encourage others to register with us so we can build on the experience that is out there.
I would encourage anyone interested to visit our website – thelegacyguild.co.uk – and keep an eye out for our list of events that will be published online shortly. I am sure you will find something there to interest you. Email: john@thelegacyguild.co.uk
I wish to conclude my brief summary of last year by saying how much I appreciate the relationships built with our Consultants and Partners over many years and how much I appreciate their support for the various Pennington Group companies in the past and into the future.
